Wheelchair softball is an exciting and challenging summer sport. The game is played under the official rules of the 16-inch slow pitch softball as approved by the Amateur Softball Association of America with some rule modifications. Teams throughout America compete on a regular basis and host several tournaments throughout the summer. NWSA holds the Wheelchair Softball World Series (WSWS) annually to determine an annual champion.
We will have a youth and an adult wheelchair softball team starting in June. Practices for youth will be every Monday night and adults every Thursday night. The teams will participate in at least one tournament per month leading up to the World Series in August:
- June 17-19 or 24-26 (TBD): RIC Chicago Cubs, Chicago, IL - Junior games on first day, adult games on all thee days.
- July 30-31: LWRSA Hawks, New Lenox (Chicago), IL
- Aug. 5-6: 10th Junior Wheelchair Softball World Series – Minneapolis, MN.
- Aug 11-13: 41th Wheelchair Softball World Series – Biloxi, MS.
